Spring Forward!

Wow, we can’t believe the 2023 season is almost over! It sure has been an interesting season, with some crazy weather. While the snow will be missed, the changing of the seasons also means it’s time to change the clocks. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour Saturday night, so you aren’t late for everyone’s favorite race, The Cantor Cup! (Millennials, don’t worry, your phone does it automatically)

Schedule:

• Friday, March 10: Slalom on North Boyne
• Awards Friday in the Snowflake @ 5pm
• Saturday, March 11: Giant Slalom on FIS
• Sunday, March 12: Cantor Cup Combined Super G & Slalom on FIS & Superbowl

Cantor Cup

The Cantor Cup is quickly approaching, hopefully you have your special outfits ready!
The MACC season may officially end Saturday, but don’t forget about this awesome once-in-a-season event. This has traditionally been a good day for creative dressing. So, get out the old clothing for some good retro, or be your true T-Rex self. All are welcome no matter your style, even guest racers.

Awards will be held shortly after Course 1. Listen to the announcer for location.

Guest Racing

We will continue to offer guest racing this weekend, and are excited to announce that guest racing is available for Cantor Cup!

• Online: https://www.maccracing.org/tools/guestrace/index.php
• In-person:
• Location: Civic Center Basement (Friday) & The Othmar (Saturday & Sunday)
• Times: 8 - 9:15am or 11:30am - 12pm
• Check-in: All guest racers will have to check in at registration, even if they sign up online, to pick up their bib and sign the waiver.

Awards Banquet

Don’t forget to buy your 2023 MACC Awards Banquet tickets before it’s too late!

Online ticket sales will be open until midnight on Friday. If you want to come to the banquet, but can't buy tickets online, see Denise Miller at awards on Friday. Tickets will not be available at the door.

Banquet Details

• Location: Civic Center, Matterhorn Room
• Doors:  6:30 PM
• Dinner: 7:00 PM

Pricing

• Adult (13 years old and up) $55
• Child (5-12 years old) $30
• Toddler (4 years old and younger) Free

“Cash” Bar

• The bar will be credit card only, but make sure to bring cash to tip your favorite bartender, Dana Lewis

Raffles

• Tickets sold at the banquet only

• Grand Prize: Disciples Chairlift Swing, built and donated by Boyne Mountain

She’s Movin’ on Up

Congratulations to Diane Clark-Finkle on her double upgrade after last race weekend.

We were able to secure a quick interview with this speedy lady, and she told us the secret to her success.

MACC Paparazzi: Diane, Diane!! Any comment on your double upgrade?!?! That is a pretty impressive and rare accomplishment!!

Diane: I know, I was pretty surprised.

MACC Paparazzi: Please, please, tell us the secret to your success this season!!

Diane: Well, I guess I can share it with just you. I owe it all to the Boyne Masters Training Program.

MACC Paparazzi: Boyne Masters Training you say? That sounds pretty exclusive.

Diane: It’s not, anyone can participate for the whole season or just one day. I’m already planning to do it again next season.

MACC Paparazzi: Awesome! Thanks for sharing your secret, I promise not to tell everyone.

Diane: Please don’t, I want to keep my edge next year.

MACC Paparazzi: Anyone special you want to mention, that helped you on your road to success?

Diane: Definitely my mentor, Debi Lewis Koltoniak. I always practice her 3 S’s of Skiing; Safety, Style, Speed.
